with all the goodbyes that we have to say, over and over, this phrase has become our chosen benediction.
I totally forgot that we can see hundreds and hundreds of stars from our back yard. This reunion was delayed because I haven’t really left the house at night because it’s been way too cold, but today I had to take the rubbish out, and I’m glad I did, because I got to see so many stars!! I don’t have a good enough camera to capture it, but it looks kinda like this:

Ok, it’s not QUITE as good as this but it’s very close, and if I drive up north for an hour it becomes just like this.
COME TO NZ, people!!
I’m HOME!! I’m HOME!! Not even jetlagged, surprisingly, as I normally get it really badly, but this kinda sucks because it’s the one time I do want to get jet lagged so that when I go to Taiwan on Saturday I won’t be as jet lagged. Now I’ll have to be jet-lagged everywhere I go :(
…unless, I don’t get jet lagged there too - because if I can not get jetlagged with a time difference of 8 hours then clearly 4 is nothing, right? Fingers crossed.
In other news, it’s freezing here (but this is more because of the 30 degree temperature change from the UAE) and I am trying hard not to adapt so that I don’t die in Taiwan again. I almost hate winter now, I have obviously soooo adapted to the UAE desert heat…
